Vibes Project Domain Names
For now, the project will live on my website at leelefever.com/vibes. This provides an easy way to collect blog posts and share the big ideas. Some day, I may use an independent domain and I think it’s smart to start building awareness for it now.
For months, I’ve been searching for the right domain and found that almost anything with “Vibes” in it is taken. The term, for better or for worse, is having a moment right now and I assume there is demand for it. VibesProject.com is available for about $1,000 and I’m not ready for that kind of expense right now. As an aside: this is a passion project that is fully self-funded and has no business model.
One of my concerns about the project is that “vibes” sounds unserious to some and I see it too. The traditional concept of vibes is amorphous and that’s part of the mystery. What if it can be more concrete? What if vibes can help us understand one another? In this telling, the idea can be deeper and more serious than it sounds.
I hoped to find a short and memorable .com domain that added some weight to the idea of vibes and referenced vibes as being a part of every person.

For now, these will work just fine. I hope the use of “DNA” frames the idea of vibes being innate and the project being focused on the mystery.
I write books and run a company called Common Craft. I recently moved from Seattle to a rural island. Here, I write about online business, book publishing, modern home construction, and occasionally, dumb jokes.
